Employers Occupational Health, Inc. Earns Full URAC Accreditation for Case Management

HENDERSON, Nev. – July 18, 2011 – Employers Occupational Health, Inc., a subsidiary of Employers Holdings, Inc., (NYSE: EIG), has been granted URAC’s full accreditation for case management. URAC is a Washington, D.C.-based health care accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the health care industry.

Case management services are one of the fastest growing areas in health care and are used in a variety of health care settings. Case management allows health care organizations to better serve patients’ needs in a more dynamic way by coordinating care across the continuum of health care settings. URAC’s Case Management Standards cover both health and workers’ compensation services. URAC is the only accreditation organization offering standards that specifically address the rapidly evolving field of case management.

“Employers Occupational Health is honored to receive full accreditation from URAC for case management,” said Mary Lushina, Senior Vice President of Employers Occupational Health, Inc. “We are very pleased to be recognized in the industry for providing outstanding services. This distinction also underscores the quality of our work with customers, patients, clients, payors and providers by demonstrating compliance with national standards for workers’ compensation case management services.”

“By applying for and receiving URAC’s full accreditation for case management, Employers Occupational Health has demonstrated its commitment to delivering quality health care,” said Alan P. Spielman, URAC President and CEO. “Quality health care is crucial to our nation’s welfare and it is important to have organizations that are willing to measure themselves against national standards and undergo rigorous evaluation by an independent accrediting body.”

URAC has accredited hundreds of organizations that provide all types of case management services, in both health and workers’ compensation settings – helping ensure that their case management offerings are of the highest quality. URAC designed the standards to fit organizations that provide telephonic or onsite case management services in conjunction with a privately or publicly funded benefits program across settings and specialties. Accreditation or certification is available depending on the type of organization and services being offered.
